TURN OFF THE BEATEN PATH, go past the blueberry barrens, and come down the hill into the village of Columbia Falls, pop. 580. Route 1 now bypasses the historic district, preserving one of the best 19-century villages in the state!
In the center of town, right next to the historic Ruggles House museum, is a restored country store that is home to the shop and studio of April Adams.
A Maine native, April has been a professional potter and ceramic artist since her graduation from the Maine College of Art in 1970. Best known for the Lupine pattern, her designs include Iris, Lady's-slipper, Blueberry, Sail boats, Spongeware as well as limited edition and one of a kind pieces. Custom tile designs are welcomed.
